This is a dark ruby red, medium bodied wine, with strong tannins, medium acidity and a long finish. On the nose, elements of black cherry, strawberry and plum come through, along with some vanilla spice. The bouquet continues to open up with some cocoa aromas, combined with tobacco, and slight earthiness. On the palate, red fruit flavours such as black cherry, black currants and plums are pronounced, as well as black pepper spice, tobacco, chocolate, and some gamey essence. Overall, it is velvety on the palate, has bold and elegant character, and is a complex wine to enjoy.
